Wollastonite or calcium metasilicate is a white, nonmetallic, naturally occurring mineral with a needle-like structure. NYCO currently produces a broad range of wollastonite grades that vary in median diameters and aspect ratios making them one of the most versatile functional fillers in the marketplace. The NYGLOS family line specifically targets OEM manufacturers in providing improved mar and scratch resistance, excellent balance in stiffness and impact (multi-axial), improved tortional shear modulus, lower CLTE (no gap) and the elimination or deduction in knit lines versus platy type minerals. The NYGLOS family line also meets on-line, off-line and in-line paint requirements depending on the polymer system. Extruder throughput, material feeding/handling as well as the elimination of dust can also be improved with select surface treatments.
