History

Founded in 1967 as a manufacturer of high performance, reinforced thermoplastics and engineered resins for the automotive industry, Asahi THERMOFIL, Inc., – now known as Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc. – has since grown into a company with multinational capabilities and leading edge technology. Asahi THERMOFIL, Inc. merged with the Asahi Kasei Plastics America in August 2005, and the new company, Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc., is now part of the Asahi corporate family. This Global Fortune 500 company has over 13 billion dollars in annual sales. Asahi's global operations include fibers, textiles, construction materials, chemicals, and plastics.
