Automation & Control Inc. (ACI) is an electrical contractor/engineer, systems integrator, and control panel designer/builder with extensive experience in plastics industry systems integration, control engineering, and factory floor data collection.

Members of ACI’s engineering team have been serving the plastics industry since 1985, and have vast expertise in the compound extrusion segment. ACI has performed control engineering for complete extrusion lines and for “rail car to rail car” processing of plastic pellets, and has performed numerous “legacy” extruder control system upgrades for companies across the U.S.

Additionally, the company provides custom control panel design/fabrication and electrical installation services for OEMs such as Welex, K-Tron, Coperion, and others.

In 2001, ACI developed cost-effective yet powerful factory floor data collection software -- called Factory Intelligence Network (FIN) -- at the request of a plastics compounding customer. Today, a number of plastics compounders, as well as manufacturers in many other industries, are using FIN to decrease downtime, reduce waste, improve product quality, and cut costs.

FIN monitors -- every second -- the critical machine, process & production variables that affect your plant’s productivity & profitability. Users can troubleshoot machine and production problems, quickly diagnose root causes of production line failures, and pinpoint sources of process variation and product defects.
