Melt Indexer Model MI-4

The Melt Indexer Model MI-4. This unique melt indexer with automatic weight selection can carry out a single weight test according to ISO 1133 and ASTM D1238, procedures B, as well as ISO 1133 and ASTM D1238 Procedure C for the "Half Height / Half Diameter" standard. Tests can be made either with one test load (single load mode) or with several test loads per barrel filling (multiple test load mode).

Fully Automatic Melt Indexer MI-ROBO 89.98

The Fully Automatic Melt Indexer MI-ROBO 89.98 automates the melt flow rate testing process by performing sample loading, testing, cleaning and die changing fully automatically. Testing can be done according to any of the following standards: ASTM D 1238, BS 2782, NF 51-016 and ISO 1133.



Capillary Rheometers
RHEO-TESTER 500

The RHEO-TESTER 500 - this entry-level capillary rheometer, with all of the inherent advantages found in GOETTFERT capillary rheometers, is capable of generating a force of 5 kN. This easily enables the measurement of viscosity flow curves over a wide range of shear rates for a broad range of materials - especially polymers. Together with the MFR option, this instrument can be used as an extrusion plastometer according to: ISO 1133 and ASTM D 1238.

RHEO-TESTER 1000

The RHEO-TESTER 1000 is an intelligent tabletop High Pressure Capillary Rheometer to determine the flow behaviour and viscosity of thermoplastics and elastomers. With a max. test force of 15 kN and a high level of user friendliness the Rheo-Tester 1000 is an ideal entry model instrument in the field of rheological quality control.

RHEO-TESTER 2000

The RHEO-TESTER 2000 is the first table-top capillary rheometer with a dynamic speed range of 1:400 000 and the first with electronics based on the new CAN-Bus system. Digital measuring and on-line calibration are an integral part of this technology that has already found its way into the automobile industry. These advantages of the Rheo-Tester 2000 are hard to beat.

RHEOGRAPH 200

The RHEOGRAPH 200 keeps the pressure of the nitrogen acting on the polymer melt constant. Our high-precision pressure control unit can register pressure differences of less than one bar with an accuracy of 0.02%, forming the basis of these highly accurate measurements.

RHEOGRAPH 6000

The RHEOGRAPH 6000 is a new, intelligent High-Pressure Capillary Rheometer, according to DIN 54811, to determine the flow behaviour and viscosity of thermoplastics and rubbers.

VISCORobo 94.00

The VISCORobo 94.00 is a fully automatic Viscosity and Melt Flow Rate Test Robot which feeds the test material into the test chamber automatically, performs the test and then cleans the test chamber, test piston and capillary. The VISCORobo 94.00 can be used to determine viscosity curves, the melt flow rate MFR in g/10min and the melt volume rate MVR in cm³/10min of plastic, granules, "gravel" and powder. The gravel and powder must be free-flowing.

RHEO-TESTER 1000E

The RHEO-TESTER 1000 E is a High-Pressure Capillary-Rheometer to determine the flow behaviour and viscosity of thermoplastics, elastomers and is suited to act as an extruder for the production of artificial bone material and other high tech materials needing very fine tolerances. The Rheo-Tester 1000 E is used in the field of research and development, as well as for quality control and goods inwards inspection.



On-line Systems
MINI BYPASS RHEOGRAPH 71.92

One of the most outstanding features of the MINI BYPASS RHEOGRAPH 71.92 is its compact size. With a width of approx. 150 mm this new system is one of the smallest on-line rheometers available. Even in tight space this new design can be installed without problems. The measuring head weight of only 30 kg eliminates costly mounting arrangements. A new die exchange system makes die changes quick and easy.

MINI BYPASS RHEOGRAPH 71.98

The MINI BYPASS RHEOGRAPH 71.98 is based on the MBR, Goettfert's proven single die discharge rheometer system. The application of 3 capillaries creates the MBR 98.00 - Triple Die. The advantage is an extended measuring range and an improved measuring accuracy.

REAL TIME RHEOMETER RTR-RTS

The REAL TIME RHEOMETER RTR-RTS is a capillary rheometer used in on-line quality control, which performs measurements on a continuous basis. The unit is used in production control and for monitoring high and low-viscosity polymers in the production and processing of raw materials.

Side Stream Rheometer

The Side Stream Rheometer is based on the first melt return on-line capillary rheometer developed by Goettfert many years ago. The new SSR uses the same annular melt transfer line as the old (the advantage is that only one tap hole is needed, making installation simple) and no waste stream is generated because the tested material is returned.

At-Line Rheometer ALR

The At-Line Rheometer ALR allows continuous rheological measurement of powder, flake and granular polymer for monitoring of polymerisation process. For this purpose the rheometer is directly installed on a small extruder acting as melt feeder. The measuring head receives the melt based upon either constant pressure or screw speed. Measuring criteria are MFR/MVR with single or multi-point measurements and the FFR, the ratio of two MFR values. Viscosity functions can be measured as well.

At-Line Station

The complete ALS consists of a combination of a small extruder and Rheometer, slit die, flat film unit and quality testing system. The system can be expanded by an Online Sampler for continuous sample retrieval.



Tensile Testers
Rheotens 71.97

It is well known that the elongational flow behavior, which dominates many processing techniques, can not be determined from shear experiments. The patented Rheotens melt tensile testing technique has proven to be highly reproductable and sensitive and will differentiate even polymer melts showing differences in molecular structure, which cannot be detected with other analytical methods.

Rheotens On-line

The Rheotens on-line is a fully automatic and continuously operating on-line tensile tester developed on the basis of the lab system RHEOTENS 71.97. RHEOTENS on-line, in conjunction with the on-line capillary rheometer MBR, is the first on-line testing system providing both shear and elongational information.

Haul-Off System

The Haul-Off System measures the extensional properties of polymer melts by drawing a vertical melt strand at a constant pull-off speed or with a linear or exponentially accelerating velocity. The Haul-Off system measures the force needed to elongate the strand, and calculates elongation stress, draw ratio and apparent elongation rate and viscosity.



Extrusiometers and Equipment
Extrusiometer 350

The Extrusiometer 350 is a fully instrumented lab extruder with integrated data acquisition. It is the result of more than 30 years experience in the field of lab-scale extrusion.

Blown Film Unit 300

The Blown Film Unit 300 is a compact unit for blowing, cooling, take off and wind up of extruded hoses. It is suitable for production of small films used by the food industry and in the packaging field where the application of big production machines is often not profitable.

Flat Film Unit

The Flat Film Unit is a compact unit combines the take-off, cooling and winding of flat films made of PE, PP and other plastics. It also serves to produce small films with variable thicknesses used in the packaging industry in general, and in the food industry specifically, where large film production units are not efficient.

Flat Film Unit 70mm

With cooled rollers and take-up unit.

Rubber cylinder

Especially suited to feed the cylinder with rubber strips and granulate.

Double Screw Cylinder D=35mm

It is possible to attach either single- or twin-screw systems to the extruder drive system. The twin screws are inter-meshing and counter-rotating.

Slit Die

For connecting the Extrusiometer with a flat film unit.

Ribbon Die

To visually inspect the strength, width (are there any edge defects) and surface for distortion.

Blow Film Head

For connecting a combined flat and blown film unit.



Elastomer Testing
VISCO-ELASTOGRAPH

The VISCO-ELASTOGRAPH is used to determine the viscoelastic material behaviour in plastified state during vulcanisation and after vulcanisation of the material sample. For that purpose, the torsional load is imposed on the sample by the rotational oscillation of the lower test die half. Torque and phase angle are recorded as a function of the test die.

RHEO-VULKAMETER

The RCR is a truly innovative capillary rheometer designed specifically for rubber compounds. The RCR base instrument incorporates all functions of the RHEO-VULKAMETER, GÖTTFERT's well-known rubber processability tester. For injection molding simulation, two measurement tools are available and the extrusion simulation is still part of the package. The standard test, where the test sample is compacted to a predetermined volume in the heated barrel and finally extruded through the capillary die, yields a 'single point test' where the displacement of the heated piston is measured.

ELASTOGRAPH "VARIO" 67.03

The ELASTOGRAPH "VARIO" 67.03 the rotorless vulcameter is used to determine the viscoelastic material behaviour in plastified state during vulcanisation and after vulcanisation of the material sample. MOONEY-VISKOSIMETER 91.03

Das MOONEY-VISKOSIMETER 91.03 ist ein Scherscheiben-Viskosimeter mit einer geschlossenen Kammer und einem Rotor, das zur Bestimmung des Anvulkanisationsverhaltens über der Zeit von unvulkanisierten Mischungen aus Natur- oder Synthesekautschuk dient. Die Materialprobe besteht aus aus zwei ausgestanzten Ronden, von denen eine mit einer Bohrung versehen ist, um den Rotor aufzunehmen. Die Probe wird in der geschlossenen Kammer durch einen sich konstant drehenden Rotor auf Scherung beansprucht. Unter den konstanten Größen Druck, Temperatur und Drehzahl wird das entstandene Drehmoment erfasst und ausgewertet.

MFRHost

The host program runs on a PC with Windows 95/98/2000/XP and Windows NT 4.0 and enables parameters and test values for the melt indexers MP, MP-B, MP-E and the automatic melt indexer MI-ROBO 89.92 and MI-ROBO 89.98 to be managed centrally.

WinRHEO 32bit

The program package WinRHEO 32bit runs on a PC under Microsoft® Windows 95 / 98 / NT 4.0 / 2000 /XP . It is designed for complete control of all Goettfert capillary rheometers via PC.

WinRHEO II

WinRHEO II offers many possibilities to evaluate and to present the raw data from your rheometer. WinRHEO II builds on the success of the very first rheometer software ever developed in Windows®, WinRHEO with its separate software modules SERVICE, SETUP and measurement.

WebRheo

Integration of the WinRHEO functions "creation of parameters"; "running a test", "evaluation" into one program. Parameter modifications become efficient at once and need not to be saved and re-loaded additionally.
