Boot Camp

Strategies & Best Practices to Survive & Thrive in the U.S. Plastics Industry

Westin O'Hare, Chicago

Plastics News is organizing a 1½ -day Survival Boot Camp in Chicago Sept. 13-14 for busy plastics company executives seeking to confront and overcome the challenges facing U.S. processors and toolmakers. Our aim is to help especially small and medium-sized firms to identify key challenges, recognize and implement best practices, and energize their teams to succeed.

Come network with owners and managers whose firms are growing profitably, despite having to cope with high resin costs, financially distressed customers and an influx of cheap imports. Hear from executives who have reshaped their companies, revamped internal operations and refocused on different end markets or customers. Absorb advice from seasoned consultants on benchmarking, implementing lean principles and assessing emerging technologies.

PN's Survival Boot Camp will run from 10 a.m. Thursday through 2 p.m. Friday at the Westin O'Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Ill. (a free shuttle ride from O'Hare International Airport). We're holding a block of rooms at $209. Conference registration is just $499 till July 15 (and $579 after that date) - and includes a breakfast, two lunches and a networking reception.

Part of our continuing series of Forum events, the Boot Camp builds on the success of our recent Plastics News China Forum and our several previous Executive Forums (the next of which is now set for March 9-12, 2008, at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Fla.).

Space is limited, so act now. To register, click here. Questions? Contact Nancy Parks in our Akron, Ohio, headquarters at nparks@crain.com or tel. (330) 865-6134. For more information about becoming a sponsor, contact Linda Whelan at lwhelan@crain.com or tel. (330) 865-6103.
