Double-Roof Disk Static Mixer

SMN Mixing Nozzel

SMB-R Melt Blender

Mixing Elements GXM

Double-Roof Disk Static Mixer

The static mixer with a fascinating scale-up concept for polymer mixing:

- for static mixing and dispersion in laminar flow
- high viscous mixing
- low viscous mixing
- high/low viscosity mixing/dispersion
- for creating plug-flow conditions in reactors

Double-Roof Disk Static Mixers are available in sizes 15 mm diameter and larger.

Mixing efficiency of Static LMXR Mixing Elements

White and blue coloured, viscous epoxy resins are pumped through a static mixer containing 8 LMXR mixing elements and an empty pipe (= laminar flow conditions). After hardening of the resins longitudinal and cross cuts have been made which demonstrate clearly the outstanding mixing performance of the static mixer whereas in the empty pipe no mixing at all occurs.

Static LMXR Mixer for processing of Polyol/Isocyanate to Polyurethane

LMXR mixing elements of different diameters produce the requested mixture/dispersion. They are arranged in a mixer pipe, usually equipped with ERMETO couplings, in a manner that the shear-rate increases from stage to stage and thus the droplet size of the dispersion continuously decreases. In the final stage the droplets are distributed uniformly over the entire flow cross section.

SMN Mixing Nozzle

For melt homogenization in INJECTION MOLDING

The StaMixCo Mixing Nozzle SMN contains 8 very efficient static mixing elements that homogenize the polymer melt during injection. The mixing elements are virtually indestructible and create a low pressure drop (30 to 50% lower than other standard products).

The outstanding mixing of the polymer melt prior to injection results in the following benefits:

- Reduced spots, streaks and clouds of color

- Reduced colorant usage (10% - 40%)

- Narrower part tolerance

- Reduced reject rates

- Less part distortion

- Less weight variation

- Improved part quality when using regrind material

- Shorter cycle time

- Improved melt flow

- Increase regrind ratio with consistent product quality

- Rapid nozzle heat-up

The SMN mixing Nozzle has an impressive price/efficiency ratio which results in a very short pay back period of a few days to a few weeks in most cases.

The SMN Mixing nozzle is available in various sizes covering applications from small to large shot weights. All sizes of the mixing elements are available from stock.

SMB-R Melt Blender

For melt homogenization in EXTRUSION

The StaMixCo Melt Blender SMB-R contains very efficient static mixing elements that homogenize the polymer melt as it enters the extruder die.

The mixing elements are virtually indestructible and create a low pressure drop.

The Melt Blender is of benefit in many extrusion applications such as:

- Sheet extrusion

- Road & Tubing

- Blown film

- Wire & Cable

- Foam sheet

- Coating Lines

- Profile extrusion

- Fibers & monofilaments

- Injection blow molding of bottles

Outstanding mixing of the polymer melt prior to extrusion results in the following benefits:

- Thermal and composition gradients are virtually eliminated

- Reduced colorant and additive usage

- Streak free product

- Improved quality when using regrind material

- Wall thickness and gauge control uniformity

- Foam size and distribution uniformity in foamed products

- Improved surface quality

- Improved mechanical properties

The SMB-R Melt Blender has an impressive price/efficiency ratio which results in a very short pay back period.

The SMB-R Melt Blender is available in various sizes covering extrusion lines with small to large diameter screws.

Mixing Elements GXM

for mixing /dispersing of viscous fluids

Since more than 25 years static GXM mixers are successfully used for mixing and/or dispersing of viscous fluids. They mix efficiently liquids of equal and/or very different viscosity to the degree of homogeneity as required by the specific application.

Dimensioning is adjusted to customer needs as well as to flow, viscosity and pressure drop conditions.

Usually the GXM mixing elements are welded to one or two rods which is/are inserted into a pipe and fixed. This assures a correct orientation of neighbouring elements and simplifies the mixer assembling and disassembling.

GXP DN 9.4 mm

Disposable Mixers of Polypropylene and PA6.6

GXP Mixing elements DN 9.4 mm made of Polypropylene (white elements) and PA6.6 with 50% glass fibres (black elements) are suitable for mixing of 2-component resins, -sealing masses or - varnishes with disposable mixers of very short length and minimum volume. Research laboratories are another area of application for these mixers.
