Corn growers' CEO defends ethanol 'evolution'

May 10, 2008 - As cheaper raw materials supplement corn for refining, Tolman sees more corn going into making higher-value products, such as plastics. Does that mean even more corn diverted to non-food uses? Besides the argument that corn for ethanol isn't creating a food crisis, he points out that corn farmers keep producing more.
