July 2, 2007 - The 2002 Census indicated that there were 5,039 pet stores that sold aquarium supplies. DEA estimates that between one percent and five percent of pet stores would carry iodine either as crystals or strong tinctures. Although nursery/garden retailers and building supplies/garden retailers sell pet supplies, it is unlikely that any of them carry covered iodine products.
