January 9, 2008 - Plastics make up about 11.1 percent of all waste landfilled and 11.4 percent of residential waste. But Canzano said the authority has no immediate plan to expand plastics recycling beyond narrow-neck bottles. Rigid plastics are banned from those curbside collections because they contaminate the recyclable plastics.
