Thailand, India hope to strike FTA deal by September

June 27, 2007 - If the FTA goes through, the two countries can hope to increase their current $3.4-billion value of bilateral trade by 30 percent per year.So far, India has agreed to eliminate tariffs on 4,000 products in a phased manner by 2011 while 500 others are on the sensitive list and will be subject to partial duty cuts over a period of time.India and Thailand signed a framework agreement to establish a bilateral FTA in 2003.
