Hold on before you chuck that empty foam coffee cup, egg carton or take-out container into the trash can. The City of Bethlehem wants them. Starting Friday, Bethlehem will become the first city in the Lehigh Valley to collect the discarded polystyrene foam at its Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center. The city makes no money on the polystyrene recycling, though it could earn the city a bigger grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
